Second of eight lists of 8 - 8 vacations that I want to take

Hi!

I'm not counting my Honeymoon trip to Huntington Beach, California because that's already booked! So that one's a guaranteed go next January!  These are in no particular order.

  1. New York City... again.
Loved it when I went for two days on my senior trip in 2006.  I loved the streets, the park, everything! I would definitely want to eat somewhere cool... I think that fancy PB&J place is there... and see another musical on Broadway.  It had a certain electricity in the air that was amazing. Frozen electricity... we went in March. I would want to go in the summer this time.

2. San Francisco

It looks beautiful!  Golden Gate bridge of course!  I wanna tour Alcatraz!  Sarah Winchester's house isn't too far from there either so that is a must!  The food network seems to love that place so interesting food would be eaten as well!  Some different beaches would be cool to see too.

3.  New Orleans!

Vampires! Voodoo stuffs! Cemeteries!  Yes... I have to go here.  I imagine a ton of cemetery pictures being taken on this trip!  I would also try to find little obscure shops with neat vampire junk in them. Some tours of haunted places would be cool.  I sort of imagine this as a group trip so probably some cool bars too.

4.  New England Area

Salem, MA ... old cemeteries and the witch museum!  Lots of lovely Victorian style homes and lots of haunted things!  Bangor, Maine... I would love to go by Stephen King's house!  Just to take pics, not to bother him. Also... East Coast with rocky shores and creepy lighthouses.  I would want to go in Fall, I'm sure the trees would be beautiful. Would love to see Boston and Philadelphia too!

5. Orlando!

Universal Studios and the Harry Potter theme park thing!!! Love me some Harry Potter!  More beaches... Maybe Sea World.

6.  Europe!

Really really old cemeteries!  Castles!  London!  Paris! Italy!  Lots of old towns and buildings and quaint cafes and fun times!  Tower of London!  Eiffel Tower of course!  I want to sip a cappucino in Italy near the river!  This might take two trips... maybe the first one with a tour group and then the next with just Steven and I...

7. Vegas!

Not really for the gambling... more for the cityscape and the shows!  They have a really awesome haunted house/theme park thing there too!  Oooh! And the roller coaster on top of the building too!

8. Washington / Oregon

Yes... I want to go to Forks, Washington because I'm a loser fangirl nerd!  Also just to see the area and that part of the coast. Big trees and all that. This could be a short trip... but the area looks beautiful.

8.  Colorado

I've been to Colorado a few times with my Grandparents but I want this to be a romantic trip for me and my honey.  I want to stay in a cozy little hotel with a view of the mountains!  Hot Cocoa and snuggling will play a major part in the trip. Maybe a trip to that Denver mall I watched longingly, as it dissappeared in the back window when we passed it to go see relatives.

And for an honorable mention of sorts... I want to go to Stevens Point, Wisconsin just to get a picture of Steven pointing at the sign.  Lol!

First of eight lists of 8 - 8 things that depict who I am

Yes. I am proud of the title.  :-)

Just trying to get comfy with this thing... and to get my post numbers up before I start getting to the whole 'author blog' thing.

  1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Angel/Jossverse -  So these two tv shows define who I am more than anything else. I started watching Buffy when I was about 9 and was/still am thoroughly obsessed. I consider just about every episode of both series gold. Everything else pales in comparison and always will. I'm an obsessed fangirl... its true. Now for my creepy 'they're more than just tv shows' stuff:
  •  When I was little, everything terrified me... movies and ghost stories mostly. Edward Scissorhands was a major one... I absolutely could not be reasoned with that he was the good guy in the movie... it scared the crap out of me!  I gained a certain fearlessness about stuff like that when I started watching Buffy.  I know I would have grown out of it anyway but Buffy hurried the process. Buffy also sparked my creepy morbidness... which is a huge part of who I am.
  • I knew I couldn't be a vampire slayer... so for the longest time I wanted to be an actress... like Sarah Michelle Gellar.   I was still set on it when I entered college and took theater. I hated it.  Really, really hated it, so I moved on to my next career choice. I wrote an obnoxious amount of Buffy/Angel fanfiction from about 13-18 (don't worry, I'm snickering too) and I loved doing it! So... career choice that actually makes sense with who I am = author.
  • I don't write fanfiction anymore but everything I do write is somehow inspired by the BtVS/Angelverse.  Nothing is copied of course but the brilliant storytelling of the two series set a bar for me that I can only hope to come close to.
So basically... BtVS and Angel fan FOR LIFE!   ... biotch

2.  I love Halloween!
It's my # 1 hobby. (I consider writing a career) I LOVE it! Its not out of the ordinary for me to be searching garage sales or antique shops for creepy stuff to go with my... at least 10 containers of Halloween decorations as early as... now. This year will be my 6th annual Halloween party which has grown to about 25-30 people.  I decorate every square inch of the house, including the bathrooms. Besides the party, I love the weather, the haunted houses, the movies... everything!  There are others like me... http://www.halloweenforum.com/ .

3.  I am getting married on January 12, 2013.
It is going to be UH-MAZING!
This depicts who I am because this will be just about all I do between now and then (planning) and also because my future hubby is a huge part of me. We are more in love than anyone who has ever been in love... ever. We are the bestest of the bestest couple, waaaaay better than all the other ones... yep. Even you.

4.  My animals -
First there was Sissie, my gorgeous little rat terrier who started a long line of rat terriers. I got her when I was about 5 and had her for 13 years. Her granddaughter(Dawn) is probably asleep in my bed right now. So Sissie (full rat terrier) and Peppie (passed away, mutt terrier) made Homer (passed away). Then Homer and Sissie (yeah, oops.) made Gateway (lives with my Aunt), Buffy (lives with my Dad) and Spike (passed away). When Sissie died, my Dad brought me home another full rat terrier puppy named Fred (Winifred, lives with my Dad) and her and Homer made Mike (stolen), Bart(passed away), Rambo (lives with my Dad) and Dawn (lives with me).  Those are indeed my children and I love them very very much. I also have a Green Cheeked Conure named Mohgli.  Gus, Spanky, Navybean, Angel, Gypsy, Wesley (lives with my Dad) were my kitties...   I love my pets!  They are the only children I need.

5.  I give terrible first.. and possibly altogether impressions.
Its true. I have a very anti-social vibe going on but I don't mean to.  Also, it's not unusual for me to mention planning the Halloween party or buying decorations in like... February and people think thats weird. And have said so behind my back. I sort of love being weird but I don't think they mean it as a compliment. I'm also really quiet... apparently. I'm awkward. It happens... hence the quietness. So if you meet me, I'm sorry if I go off on some random rant about BtVS or maybe bring up something morbid (Abandoned morgue photography) and if you know me more than 5 minutes I might invite you to my Halloween party, like, six months in advance. Stop judging and accept that I'm awesome. :-)

6.  Concerts & Music -  If I had any musical talent whatsoever, I'd totally be a rockstar!  Or not.  I'm definitely a concert chick though! I tend to average about 5 concerts a year, which is a lot really. I've seen over 200 bands/artists live. I absolutely love live music and just music in general. I'm mostly a rock, punk, alternative, soul punk, slow alternative, rock pop chick. I also excel into music fangirlisms here.  I've met Nick Carter, Howie Dorough (from Backstreet Boys), Eve 6, Guitarist from Plain White Ts, Lifehouse in 2003 and then the different members of Lifehouse in like... 2007 (Jason Wade, Lead Singer wasn't there the second time), and I giggled like a complete loser the entire time... It was a blast though.

7. I'm Christian.  Not super duper Christian though. I don't go to church. There are many things in the Bible that I don't agree with. Religion is a very personal thing to me so I am what I am. I won't discuss religion much on here but it is part of who I am.

8. I'm a writer.  I bad, bad one. It's not the content thats bad (not that its great or anything) but I'm a bad one because I don't do it.  I don't have more than 8,000 words written of any of my novel ideas and the short stories I've written are terrible. This year... this year will be different. I will get a first draft of a novel written!

Well, thats me!  Hopefully this doesn't scare too many people away!  Ok, so no one actually reads this yet so I guess I'm safe on that!  :-)

First!!!

This is the first post!

I'm not entirely sure where to start so I thought I'd do something fun so we could get to know each other bit better!  Sort of as a writing warm up too... I'm going to describe my perfect day!  This supposed to be fun (so no bringing people back to life or discovering ways to cure cancer or waking up 50 lbs lighter or anything)!

The more I think about doing this, the more I realize how much you can tell about a person from what their perfect day would be like.  So... here it goes!

8am - I awake fully rested next to my gorgeous fiance and cuddly puppy. The light is shining through the blinds and I can see how the hours of cleaning and laundry we'd done the previous night had paid off.  Everything is spotless.  I climb out of bed and slip on my workout clothes and its off to the gym.

10am - After a great workout, I head home, take an incredibly hot shower and then head to Starbucks with my laptop.  I find a really cozy place out of view, write 1000 words and sip my perfectly proportioned grande white mocha.

11:33am - I get a text message from my sweetheart demanding my presence at home. :-)

12:30pm - We eat lunch at somewhere tasty.

1:30pm - We go visit a cemetery.  Yes, a cemetery. This blog is called 'Morbid Coffee'.. I wasn't joking about the morbid part. I take tons of pics of beautiful old tombstones and it's awesome!

2pm - More coffee at starbucks in Barnes & Noble followed by hours of wandering around looking at books. (Ok, I guess if it was really a 'perfect' day... my book would be there... just one copy though as the other 200 had been bought... since it's release earlier that morning :-).

5pm - See some awesome movie with my honey at the movie theater

8pm - tasty dinner somewhere

10pm - snuggling with my honey and the puppy, catching up on Bones episodees

12am - Read for a bit and write another 200 words.

Then sleepy dream time!

I'm pretty simple... lol.

Wouldn't be terribly sad if I didn't actually have fiance/sweetheart/honey? Ha!  I do though. Promise. He's  currently laying at the end of the bed watching old SNL episodes.

Until next time... my harsh, non-constant reader... lol... book nerd humor.
